Yashin - Get Loose!

----------------Take a look through AlternativePress.com's AP&R section and you'll definitely find some hit and miss acts making their way through free shows in church halls and local gigs. Depending on your mood or what you haven't heard in a while, you could find some nifty treasures.

Yashin sounds as if the music beeps like an orchestra of robots and has an interestingly pretty indie girl at the mic, but not quite. The six-piece shredders from the U.K. have a dynamic sound incorporating anthem-friendly guitars and intense, energetic vocals. Yashin have released a full-length entitled Put Your Hands Where I Can See Them. Check them out and give us your thoughts.

And by the way, their album cover looks like my blog background...odd.

Dinner and a Suit - Long Drive Home

-----------You'll always look presentable and suave when you dress for the occasion. The Jersey based Dinner and a Suit are looking pretty dapper indeed, what with a buzz on Alternativepress.com and the now available Safe to Say playing on their myspace page. The getup that dresses Dinner and a Suit shoes of Augustana, pants of Stellamaris and jacket of Citizen Cope - the rest of the outfit is up to your discretion.

Harvard - Red Dress
----------------In every issue of Alternative Press magazine, two pages of rock research are given to the up-and-coming movers and shakers for today and tomorrow's scenesters. One group most recently included is Harvard, the prog-rock sludgy band from Charlotte, North Carolina. While in their hometown, the members of Harvard can be found judging local battle of the bands tournaments and "in the lab (as it says on their Myspace page)" recording a fresh demo. "Red Dress" floats unevenly and mystically through jaunted guitars and discordant vocals. True, it may seem like a mess, but any fans of Circa Survive will dig it.
