Death Cab for Cutie - "You Are a Tourist"

Death Cab for Cutie - You Are a Tourist
————-Death Cab are at it again - like they ever were gonna stop filling our night time drives and contemplative moods with metaphor-filled lyrics and indie-whimsy. The band will release their album Codes and Keys May 31st, but in the meantime Seattle radio station 107.7 The End have the audio link for you to get a glimpse of the album.
”You Are a Tourist” is spacey like “Cath” with groovy-distorted guitars and echoes from Ben Gibbard. The song as a whole is solid Death Cab material, listening to them feels oddly nostalgic but new at the same time. We’re looking forward to hearing more of Codes and Keys this May.

Jonezetta - Paint & Picture

---------"Everything is gonna change" - such a confident and assured chorus from Jonezetta's "Paint & Picture," right? Whether you are totally comfortable with the Cleveland indie band's statement or not, you can't deny that Jonezetta's Death Cab stylings and Robert Chisolom sounds like Chris Martin mellowed out on chai lattes and obscure vintage LPs. The direction of this seemingly woebeggon song takes a positive turn, for even in the wake of change, signs point to a brighter tomorrow. Get "Paint & Picture" from Jonezetta's second full-length album, Cruel to Be Young.

Cold War Kids - Hang Me Up to Dry

--------------Nathan Willett doesn't need to exaggerate his well-ranged voice, but he chooses to with humility and honesty."Hang Me Up to Dry" draws simple rock guitars, hypnotic rythems, and beautiful wails from Willett. Cold War Kids strays away from dashing theatrics and overcharged rock bravado. The technical simplicity echoing one of their main influences found in Radiohead makes the band a perfect complement to their current tour buds, Death Cab for Cutie. Get "Hang Me Up to Dry" from Cold War Kid's debut album Robbers and Cowards.

Death Cab for Cutie - Your Heart is an Empty Room

------------If I was told to make a list of my favorite albums, Plans would most certainly have a spot near the top. "Your Heart is an Empty Room" rings true in its message that it's not all about the chase, and once its all over, vacancy takes over love. The lyrics are on the outside looking in, and the thoughtful and calming melody reiterates the mellow theme of the album. Get "Your Heart is an Empty Room" from Plans.
